Dress code:
- The dress code is traditional.
Venue:
- Southborough School has its own carpark in the front and ample parking space available.
- If you are using SAT Nav, please use KT6 5AR as our postcode.
Registration:
- The students must register minimum of 15 mins earlier. Even though we work by appointment system, delays might occur beyond our control. But we will endeavour to resolve any issues quickly
- On your arrival please report to the registration desk
Assessment:
- It is an independent board. The assessors are appointed by the board and generally our policy is that, teachers are not allowed to sit on the examination panel.
- It is a one –to –one assessment and not a group one.
- The students perform the pieces from memory. So books or papers are not allowed
- Written theory examination only applies from grade 3 onwards. Grade 1&2 theory test is only oral.
Results:
- The results are normally released on first week of May, prior to the award ceremony
What to bring with you:
- Ensure you bring what stationery and materials you need for your theory exam and put your stationery in a clear pencil case. You are only permitted to take clear bottles of still non-carbonated water into your exam. Non-essential items and valuables should be left at home and invigilators will advise you on where to put bags, coats and revision notes on the day.
- Electronic devices are not allowed into the examination hall.
- No need to bring any Sruthi box or Thambura as the examination rooms will have their own instruments and set up ready to use.
General information:
- We have a strict safe guarding policy, only examination officials are allowed in the examination area.
- We operate an appointment system and each student has been allocated a fixed time for their practical examination. Ensure you allow plenty of time to your examination venue.
